Since 2021 we have established strong relationships with community groups in the borough including Mind Food, LAGER Can, Northolt’s Resident Group, Canal and River Trust and Community Payback. Our projects have resulted in addressing anti-social behaviour, the revitalisation of overgrown spaces, and involved those who have previously not had the opportunity to experience the joy of gardening. We engage with schools regularly through school visits, attending career events and mentoring programmes. In 2025, we also supported Ealing SEND Hub’s ‘Working Outdoors & Employability’ scheme, a 5-week programme for Ealing SEN students led by Business Education Events CIC (BEE) and supported by business volunteers from the local community.

Our closest ongoing relationship is with Springhallow Post-16 College for young adults with autism. Our support in the form of mentoring, work experience and grounds maintenance has resulted in us being awarded their ‘Employer of the Year’ in 2022 and 2023 and for 2024-25 we were awarded ‘Champion Supporter of the Year’.

Katie Morley, Deputy head of Springhallow post 16 college explains why:

“Green Ealing Ltd has been a fantastic support for Springhallow Post 16 College in Greenford and the school in West Ealing. The staff are incredibly kind and generous with their time and support.

We have collaborated on several projects over the past two years from physical labour to mentorship and technical support. They have also provided meaningful work-based experiences supporting students with various needs who regularly work with the GEL Grounds Maintenance team. These placements have given students the confidence and belief that this can be an achievable outcome in the future. One student ended up going to College to do a Level 1 bricklaying course as a result.

They also gave time to revitalise a piece of land next to the college for students to enjoy horticulture lessons that supports their mental health when they are feeling stressed or anxious.

We benefit from a high level of support, advice and generosity with a wraparound service from management to the frontline team.”
