Investing in our people is part of what we do at Greener Ealing and no one embodies this more than Caroline Taylor. Having joined the contract as an apprentice in 1988, Caroline has 36 years of continuous service. She has flourished under GEL and was recently promoted to Grounds Maintenance supervisor.
Caroline is also our first female tractor driver, she got her licence with Greener Ealing Ltd. She’s jumped at every learning and development opportunity and thoroughly deserves her promotion.
She says, “I’m delighted to have accepted the role of supervisor. I’m learning new skills every day and I have a great support network around me. I only have to call, text, email or speak to a colleague if I am struggling with something, and straight away, I feel that genuine compassion and caring coming from Greener Ealing Ltd management. It’s a great place to work and develop your career – it’s like one big extended family.”
Of her tractor qualification Caroline says, “I regularly use the tractor for various tasks within the workplace and I get real satisfaction from it, particularly when women notice me driving and make positive comments.”
Reflecting on her long career, she says, “I’ve always loved my job, that’s why I’ve stayed so long. Every day is different and I’m continually learning. The workforce is a diverse, multicultural team and Greener Ealing Ltd ensures that everyone, regardless of sex, race, gender and beliefs, is treated with dignity and respect.
