Greener Ealing is proud to be a London Living Wage employer

At Greener Ealing, our mission isn’t only about delivering high-quality, sustainable services for the borough — we’re equally committed to supporting the people who deliver those services every day. That’s why we’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer and delighted to celebrate Living Wage Week once again.

Supporting Living Wage Week 2025

As a Living Wage Employer, we’re proud to celebrate this week and highlight the difference the Living Wage makes to our people and our business. Living Wage Week Living Wage Week (10-16th November) is an annual celebration of the movement for fair pay, marking the announcement of the updated Living Wage rates. It’s a chance for organisations across the country to champion the importance of paying wages that truly reflect the cost of living. For us, it’s also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment and inspire others to join the movement.

Throughout the week, we have been attending events to promote fair pay, share insights on why the Living Wage benefits both employees and employers, and encourage other organisations in Ealing join more than 100 London Living Wage employers in our borough and counting.

Jyoti Sharma, HR Adviser, proudly represented Greener Ealing at the Living Wage Foundation’s official London launch event, hosted by West Ham United at the London Stadium on Monday 10 November, to kick off Living Wage Week 2025. The event brought together leading voices from across various sectors to highlight the importance of fair pay and to celebrate progress made towards making the Real Living Wage the standard across the UK, with guest speakers including Howard Dawber OBE, Deputy Mayor for Business and Growth, and Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, Mayor of Newham.

Later in the week, Zahra Ghaderi, who represents Greener Ealing Ltd on Ealing’s London Living Wage Action group, attended the Good for Ealing Business Breakfast for businesses from across the borough. The event brought together local businesses to explore the benefits of paying the London Living Wage and to gain practical advice on how fair pay, wellbeing and resilience can strengthen people and businesses.

As Greener Ealing continues to grow and develop, our dedication to being a fair and responsible employer remains unwavering. Paying the London Living Wage is the right thing to do — not only for our staff, but for the wider community we serve. We’re proud to stand alongside thousands of other organisations championing fair pay, and we will continue to support the Living Wage Foundation in its mission to ensure that everyone can thrive, not just survive.

Why the London Living Wage Matters

The London Living Wage is an hourly rate of pay, currently set at £14.80. It is calculated independently to reflect the higher cost of living in the capital, giving a worker in London and their family enough to afford the essentials and to save. In a city as dynamic and diverse as London, the cost of living can be challenging. By paying the London Living Wage, Greener Ealing ensures that everyone working for us is paid a fair wage that reflects the true cost of living and supports a decent standard of life. This commitment is more than a policy; it’s a recognition of the hard work, skill, and dedication our teams bring to the community every day.
