Greener Ealing volunteers joined forces with UK charity Trees for Cities to give a communal area on an Ealing housing estate a makeover.
GEL volunteers get stuck in
More than a dozen GEL Grounds Maintenance team members pitched in to kickstart the improvements on part of the Racecourse Estate in Northolt in December 2020.
We planted a range of plants and hedgerow. We hope that by the spring, residents will see shoots of colour and foliage. A number of wooden planters were also built and filled with soil. This gives residents who live in flats the opportunity to grow their own produce and tend a garden.

Trees for Cities and the Freshwater Foundation helped to establish a residents group of volunteers to protect and promote the green spaces and parks of the estate. They are always looking for new members. To join them in regular weeding, watering, litter picking and celebrations of the parks!
